Save money and savour summer by Shaye Walsh
As summer is in full swing, my kids are already bored. I would love to get away for some summer fun, but everyday reality makes it extremely difficult. If you are like me, you live a busy life. However, it is essential to get away from time to time. Even though money is tight, there are some simple ways to afford a little vacation. For example, a mom may be able to turn a crafting hobby into side money or try other methods to earn extra cash. Both stay-at-home moms and women with full time jobs can find a way to supplement income for summer. Here are four ways to plump up income in order to afford some needed time away.
Many people love to craft. Etsy is a great way for home crafters to turn projects into extra cash. Besides crafts, Etsy is also a place where a person can sell old clothing or other items as well. It allows a person to work at an individual pace and set prices without having a store dictate profit margin. If a person is very knowledgeable about vintage items, Etsy is a great place to do business.
If you are a true animal lover, this is perfect for you and anyone else who enjoys spending time with animals. Dog boarding can be done without a great deal of time and never feels like work. Pet owners must often use a kennel when taking a trip. However, using a dog boarder is a much more personal experience that alleviates the stress of leaving a pet behind. You can house a dog while others are away and earn good money. Playing and caring for a dog can be a fun way to earn extra income! It also helps a fellow dog lover who hates leaving an animal behind during times of travel.
Turn Off The A/C
Summer is usually a warm time of year, but not all places require a person to run the air conditioning all day. A better alternative to keep cool is to run fans and open windows. This circulates fresh and cooler air around the home and keeps the electric bills down. This works very well during the evening when the sun has gone down. The savings will amaze the average homeowner after just one month.
Dump The Bottled Water
Many people constantly carry store bought bottled water. However, this can be an expensive habit. Besides wasting money, it also kills the environment. Many people believe that bottled water is better than tap water, but this is incorrect. Tap water gives the body more nutritional content because it contains more minerals. Even though tap water may have a weird taste, a filtration system may help improve the taste. In the end, a person will increase health, help the environment, and gain some funds.
Everyone needs some time away. However, if you are a single mom like me or a family on a tight budget, it may seem impossible to find the money to take a vacation. The above ways are a few examples of how to make some extra cash without much hassle. With little time or energy, it will be possible to flip through travel brochures and uncover the perfect place to enjoy some summer fun.
